There are a variety of cards to choose from that appeal to almost every workout personality or goal. We sat down with the founder of 10 Pack, fitness professional and Atlanta resident Cara Weaver. Tell us about 10-Pack. How does the card work?
“10 Pack is a curated multi-studio fitness class card. You get individual classes at hand selected fitness studios combined on one card. The classes are priced at each studio’s discounted group rate per class so you save money by avoiding the single class fee! After picking your 10 Pack Card, you take it with you to each studio listed on the back and redeem the number of classes that it shows. The studios simply cross their name off when you use it and you have the rest of the classes left to use up within 6 months. It’s your own little group fitness schedule at your fingertips.
10 Pack also partners with local health and wellness business to provide discounts and “perks” to having a 10 Pack Card. As more businesses reach out to partner with 10 Pack, the value of a 10 Pack card will grow. “
How do you choose the classes that are included in the package?
“This is one of the best parts about a 10 Pack Card, the studios and classes offered on a 10 Pack Card are tried and tested by me. I have taken and taught hundreds of fitness classes from Yoga to Circuit Training to Pilates. I know a good class when I see it. I have put my professional knowledge to work and vetted the best classes in Buckhead that offer top quality, results-based, and motivating classes. The classes have to meet a quality criteria that include; certified instructors, uniqueness, correct form instruction, personal service, good music, a motivating instructor, and popular among the locals. There are really so many great studios that meet these criteria because when pulled away from the limitations of a big-box gym, a group fitness class can be given the attention it needs to give you a BANG for your BUCK!”
What type of person/ specific fitness level would benefit most from using 10-Pack?
“The 10 Pack card was created to fill a demand for ME! It has since developed into a need for so many others that are just like me (workout junkies) as well as people that need to know where to go and don’t have time to research their options. There is a card for every fitness level AND every workout personality (except the “Solo Sweater” that doesn’t like group fitness:)). For example; there is a “Stability 10 Pack” with all low-impact core and toning classes, a “Cardio 10 Pack” for cardio junkies, a “Power 10 Pack” for cross trainers, and a “Bikini 10 Pack” for lighter weight toning and cardio seekers. You can also sample each pack as a HALF Pack to find the right one for you or give as a perfect gift!
10 Pack cards can also be a way to help people reach different goals. As a fitness consultant putting together a combination of classes that I believe bring long lasting results, the card is a “plan-of-action” for anyone looking to make a change or meet a goal. I challenge people to use the card quickly, taking 2-3 classes per week to see faster results (with a doctors permission). This can be a jumpstart into a weight loss goal or getting back into the workout routine after a break. Most people are limited to boot camps with month long commitments and higher costs to get this kind of group motivation. Use the card up and you get variety and quality group training at less cost than boot camp or a personal trainer. You can also use a card to supplement a training program for a marathon or triathlon.”
This is awesome! How did you come up with this idea?
“I am a mother of 2, fitness junkie, former gym manager, and still teach fitness classes. I love health and fitness, reading about new trends in my spare time rather than shopping or cooking. It is my hobby. I found myself with only a few hours two days per week to get a workout in while my kids were in pre-school so I would hop around to the different studios trying new classes each week. This little hobby started to become costly and my only option was to pick one of the studios to spend my workout budget on so that I could take advantage of their multi-class package discounted rate. I woke up one morning thinking about how wonderful it would be to make a “10 Pack’” filled with all of my favorite classes at their discounted package rate so I could still keep my variety and reduce boredom, muscle memory, and injury. I proposed the idea to a few of the studio owners that I had a relationship with and they loved it! Together we have this sense of community and teamwork, trying to reach as many people as possible that maybe couldn’t afford or didn’t know about the amazing group training options outside of the local big box gym. I hope it will fill stockings at Christmas, be in birthday cards, holiday baskets, and especially touch a new mommy or bride-to-be’s heart. “
What is the 10-Pack philosophy?
“The 10 Pack philosophy is to put your workout higher on your priority list and make it FUN so that it becomes a hobby. Find the workout that fits your personality, goals, and lifestyle and not what you think you “should” be doing. Regardless of your size or shape, no one can run from the fact that being fit and strong creates longevity and reduces injury and health card costs linked to aging. I believe that if you change your view of working out to a more fun and social view by finding a class or instructor that gets you excited and motivated, it will be something that you begin to put up higher on your priority list and the excuses will fall to the side. 10 Pack wants to change the statement “I have to go workout” to “I can’t wait to get to class and see my friends, blow off steam, or have some sweaty fun!”
